Brown bear (Ursus arctos)

The brown bear belongs to the family bear animals. In Sweden, brown bear lives in forest landscapes in the middle and northern parts of the country. The brown bear has a large and massive body where the stomach is high and gives a sloping backline. 

The fur's color varies from light gray-brown to almost black. The cubs often has a clear light neck collar. They can be up to 250 cm long and weigh between 60-250 kg. Brown bears are omnivores, they eat everything from grass, herbs, berries and ants to meat and fish. They are solitary and meet only in spring when it is mating season.
